Venthry develops Venthry Home, the cleaning planner for Android (app identifier: com.venthry.home), and is responsible for the personal information it processes. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@venthry.com.
This policy describes the initial Android test version, 0.1.0 (version code 1). Your cleaning plans are stored on your device. Cloud household sharing and live advertising are not enabled in this version. The app includes Google advertising and consent software; the details below explain when it may process information. We will update this policy before a release enables cloud sharing or changes these practices.
Information you enter in the app
Venthry Home stores home and room names, household member names or nicknames and roles, chores and notes, assignments, schedules and time zone, effort and time preferences, breaks, completion history, points, and app settings on your device. It uses these records to create your cleaning plan, show progress, manage household responsibilities, and remember your choices. Focus timer progress and your advertising age-group choice are also saved locally. The age choice records “under 18,” “18 or over,” or an unanswered state; we do not ask for your date of birth.
You can use the local planner without creating an online account, supplying an email address, or signing in with Google. Creating a home or a member profile does not create an online account. This version does not upload your household records to Venthry. Use nicknames where possible and avoid entering sensitive personal information. We do not use your contacts, precise device location, camera, microphone, or payment details for the cleaning planner.
Backups, imports, and sharing
“Export backup” creates a file containing your household records. You choose where to save it or which app or person receives it through your device’s sharing controls. The file is not encrypted by Venthry Home, so keep it somewhere private. “Import backup” reads the backup file you select. Neither action automatically sends the file to Venthry.
Your device or backup provider may retain app data or exported files according to your operating-system settings and that provider’s policy. Copies you give to other people or services remain under their control. Optional online household sharing is unavailable in this version; exporting a backup is a separate action that you control.
Reminders and device permissions
If you enable daily reminders, the app requests notification permission and schedules reminders on your device. Notifications use generic cleaning-reminder text and do not include member names or chore descriptions. We do not register a remote push-notification token for these local reminders. You can turn reminders off in the app or change notification permission in Android settings. Declining permission leaves the planner usable.
Advertising and privacy choices
Venthry Home includes Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads) and Google’s User Messaging Platform to support advertising and privacy choices. The initial Android test version has no live ad unit configured and does not request live banner ads. Development builds may use Google test ads. If an adult opens “Advertising privacy choices,” the consent software may contact Google to check which choices are available, even when no banner is shown.
When Google’s advertising or consent services are used, Google may receive your IP address and approximate location derived from it, device and app information, app or ad interactions, diagnostics, consent choices, and identifiers such as an app set ID. These services use information to handle privacy choices, deliver and measure advertising where active, maintain performance, and prevent fraud. The current Android build excludes Android advertising-ID permission and requests non-personalized ads where ads are configured. Non-personalized advertising can still involve device data. We do not provide your home names, member names, chores, schedules, or cleaning history to advertising services.
Ads remain disabled when the age choice is unanswered or “Under 18,” or when the required privacy process is not ready. All app features remain free and usable without accepting advertising tracking. Adults can reopen “Advertising privacy choices” in Settings and change or withdraw consent where the Google privacy form is available. Refusing optional consent does not remove planner features.
Google explains its processing in its Privacy Policy and information about apps that use Google services. Its Mobile Ads data disclosure describes the SDK’s data categories. We do not run a separate app analytics or session-recording service in this version.
When you contact us or visit this page
If you email us, Venthry and our email provider process your email address, message, and attachments to answer you and resolve your request. Only send information needed for support; do not send passwords, invitation codes, or an entire household backup unless it is necessary and we have agreed a suitable way to receive it. Visiting this policy or our support website involves the hosting and security processing described in our website privacy notice.
Why information is processed and who receives it
We use information to provide the features you request and answer service requests. Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, providing the service is based on performing our agreement with you; general correspondence and security rely on our legitimate interests in supporting users and preventing abuse; optional consent-based processing relies on your consent; and legally required processing relies on the applicable legal obligation. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.
Recipients are the people or apps you choose for exports, our email and website hosting/security providers when you contact us or visit the website, and Google when its services described above are used. We may disclose information we hold where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. We do not sell your household records or use them to target advertising.
Service providers may process information outside your country. Where required, transfers must use an applicable legal safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. Contact us for information about safeguards for information Venthry holds; Google’s policy describes its own international processing.
Storage, security, and retention
Household records stay in the app’s local storage until you remove them or clear the app’s data. Deleting a chore removes the routine but preserves its completion history; remove the home to delete the complete local household record. Android’s application isolation protects app storage, but the household records and exported files are not separately encrypted by the app. Protect your device with a screen lock and keep backups private. Google states that Mobile Ads data is encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
We keep support correspondence while it is needed to resolve your request and maintain relevant business records, then delete it when it is no longer needed, unless a legal obligation or an unresolved legal claim requires retention. Google and your chosen backup or sharing providers apply their own retention policies and controls. This version has no Venthry cloud household database or server backup of your cleaning records.
Delete your data
On your device: open the home in Venthry Home, go to Settings, and choose “Remove this home.” Confirm removal. Repeat for any other homes. This removes that home’s local records and cancels its reminders. To clear remaining local app preferences as well, use Android Settings → Apps → Venthry Home → Storage → Clear storage (labels vary by device). Export first if you want to keep a copy.
Backups and copies: separately delete any exported files and operating-system or cloud backups you control. Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app does not delete those copies or erase files already received by another person or service.
Information held by Venthry: email a deletion request to hello@venthry.com. Include “Venthry Home” and the information you want deleted; use the address from your earlier support conversation if possible. You can make this request without installing or opening the app. We may ask for enough information to verify the request, but never for your password. We will explain any information we must retain and why. We cannot remotely erase records stored only on your device. This version has no online Venthry Home account to delete.
Household members and younger users
Household owners should use care when entering information about other people, especially children, and explain how any shared backup will be used. Managed member profiles do not create a separate online account. Use nicknames and avoid unnecessary details about children. The app disables advertising when the device’s age choice is “Under 18” or unanswered. A parent or guardian can remove local household information using the controls above or contact us about information sent to support.
Contact and privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data-protection authority. You can edit local records and export a backup in the app. For information Venthry holds, contact hello@venthry.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any limits on a request.
Changes to this policy
We will publish changes at this address and update the date above. Material new processing, including enabling cloud sharing or live advertising in a later release, will be described before it begins, with additional notice and consent where required.
